Arthurs Playing Stats

We have tried to include every game that we are aware of, including friendlies, testimonials, representative games, end of season tours and of course all official league & cup games. During Arthur's playing career there were only two competitions, the League and the FA Cup

Debut & games before WW2 breaks out......

 

Arthur makes his 1st team debut the season after the '37 Cup win against Leeds Utd aged just 18 year old

He continues to make an impression playing another 14 games the following season but has a job on his hands trying to oust cup winner Alex Hastings from the team....

 

Season 39-40

Three league games were played before war was declared. The results of the three games were declared null & void and players appearances are not included in any stats....... Arthur did not play in any of the games which were:-

Derby (H) 3-0

Huddersfield (H)  1-2

Arsenal (A) 2-5
